Master Class in Barcelona

Alex Jacobowitz gave a master class in advanced xylophone
techniques to Spanish students of Roberto Armengol, teacher
at the Conservatori Superior in Barcelona, on Monday,
November 19, 2007, in the main auditorium, at 9am.

As in years past, Alex Jacobowitz performs at the Frankfurter Buchmesse (Book Fair),
the largest and most important of its kind. Performances take place in Hall 8, in the
Galleria, October 10-12, 2007, beginning at 11am.
October 14, 2007, 7pm - Symphony Space, Broadway and 95th Street in New York City, with the most famous klezmer musicians from around the world. Organized by the Eldridge Street Project, with Yale Strom.

"Klezmer in Germany" - a 2007 WDR/BBC film
|
|
The Zanussi/Goldie film "Klezmer in Germany" was broadcast on Czech TV in April, 2007, and will soon be broadcast on the BBC and WDR (West Deutsche Rundfunk), as well as other national broadcasters. Alex Jacobowitz and others of the German klezmer scene are featured in the hour-long documentary. Czech TV used this photo from Rudolstadt in their web advertising for the film.

Alex Jacobowitz will perform his famous street shows for the Evangelische Kirchentage in Hanover´s pedestrian zone. Over 100,000 visitors are expected. He has performed for these biannual conventions since 1993. |

Alex Jacobowitz will give a concert of Jewish music at Berlin´s Hackescher Hoftheater to commemorate the events of September 11, 2001, in which his cousin Alan Lederman was killed. |

Munich (Street Music Festival) - May 7, 2005

Alex Jacobowitz has been invited to perform by the City of Munich at their annual Festival. The performance will be in the Karlstor U-Bahn Station at 9 pm. These performances are usually well-publicized and hundreds are expected to attend, so please come early, and follow the crowds! |

Ludwigsburg (Press Conference) - May 11, 2005

In connection with the upcoming Ludwigsburg Street Music Festival (May 13-15, 2005), Alex Jacobowitz will appear for a press conference on Wednesday, May 11, at 11 am at the Blühende Barock Castle in Ludwigsburg. A paving stone with his name will be installed in the "Walk of Fame" in honor of his 2nd place finish in the Ludwigsburg Street Music Festival of 2003. |

Regensburg performances on August 22, 2004

Alex Jacobowitz will perform two programs of Jewish music in the
excavated buildings of Regensburg´s Jewish community, which dates back to the Middle Ages. The buildings lie under the Neupfarrplatz, and is known as the Dokument.
The concerts take place at 11 am and 7 pm. |
